Meet the speaker
Meagan Whelan
Meagan has over 15 years of clinical and leadership experience in respiratory care. She began her career in 2008 as an RRT-NPS at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, ultimately serving as a Charge Respiratory Therapist before relocating to the UK.
Meagan spent the next decade working in respiratory, sleep, and ventilation diagnostics and treatment within the NHS. During this time, she held several key roles across three hospitals including Head of Department for a tertiary sleep and home ventilation unit. Her primary clinical focus was optimally supporting patients with nocturnal hypoventilation associated with COPD, Overlap Syndrome, and Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS) – areas in which she continues to have a strong interest.
In 2022, Meagan joined industry as a Clinical Application Specialist (CAS) in Sleep and Respiratory Care at Philips. Today, Meagan serves as a Clinical Application Specialist at Sentec supporting clinicians through hands-on training and with direct support to clinical teams. Meagan is excited about expanding access to Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV) as a valuable treatment option for patients in the UK. She remains committed to fostering collaboration through shared learning and experiences with both her colleagues at Sentec and with clinicians to improve patient experiences and outcomes.
